So, you have decided that you would like to have a go at creating your own
Interactive Fiction. How do you go about it?
First you need to pick an authoring system. But, which authoring system is best?
You will need to decide on the answers to questions like do you like
programming? or if you feel more comfortable using a GUI? Will you use Windows
or a non-Windows platform like Linux or Mac? I would say pick
ADRIFT, but then I'm very biased.
The Cloak of Darkness
site may help. This site has a sample game created in all the major (and most
minor) authoring systems. You can download the games and authoring system to see
which might suit you best.
Failing that download ADRIFT
from the Generator page and get stuck in!
