Welcome to the walkthrough for the ADRIFT adventure, 'Back Home'.

The game is fairly straight-forward, with only a couple of puzzles that need to be dealt with.

This walkthrough will provide solutions to the puzzles, plus answer some questions that you might have.


1) DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFORE I GO TO BED AT MY PARENTS' HOUSE?

No. The scene in the train, at the station and in the kitchen are the IF equivalent of cutscenes. Feel free to play around and explore.


2) HOW DO I GET INTO THE ATTIC?
--------------------------------

You can't get into the attic until the bulb is replaced. I am assuming you can get as far as standing on the attic ladder.
You need to get a replacement bulb and change the broken one. You can do this with the command 'change bulb', amongst others. Of course, before you do this you need to find a replacement bulb.

Where can you find one? Well, where would you find a lightbulb normally? Answer: in a working light. There are a few lamps around the house, and in each one you will find a working bulb which can be taken with the command 'take bulb'.


3) WHAT DO I DO ONCE I'VE FOUND THE PHOTO ALBUM?

If you've explored the attic you will have found the photo album. Examining it will have triggered a memory. You then need to go and examine your bed, and the drain in the garden.


4) HOW DO I GET THE KEY?
-------------------------

There are two parts to this puzzle. Upon examining the drain you will notice a small key. The key is out of your reach, so you need to find a way of getting hold of the key.

You need to combine the string and the magnet (use the command 'attach string to magnet', amongst others) to make a fishing line of sorts. Then you can use the command 'get key with magnet' to try and fish the key out. Initial attempts will fail, because the key is still too far away.

You can move the key closer to the drain entrance by turning on the tap by the back door ('turn on tap'). Before you have been in the attic you will be reluctant to do this (don't want to waste water), but after having seen the key you will be able to use the tap to push the key nearer to the entrance, and then you can use the string and magnet to get it.


5) WHAT ABOUT THE PHONE?
-------------------------

You don't need to do anything with the phone if you don't want to. You can complete the game without using it at all. You may find it interesting to answer the phone when it rings, or try and make some calls.
